We declare our right on this earth to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being  on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary (Malcom X).

The word Odidia is the name of a species of insect in Lugbari (one of the native tongues of Lado). The Odidia is notorious for its dietary habits. It burrows underneath the foundation of a house and from there continues to eat its way through all wooden structures in the building. The inattentive house owner never notices anything until its too late and the house is infested with wood eating insects, devouring the actual house.

This is a fitting analogy for the strategy we, as Africans, must employ to free ourselves from the oppression of the global regime of terror, which is currently waging wars, looting resources, impoverishing and destroying us as a people, in the name of free trade, capitalism, democracy and economic development.

We are trapped within the system, for it is global but it is from within the same system, we gain access to how it functions and how it works. It is from within the system we will discover, all that has been concealed from us and this knowledge transforms us into Odidia; slowly but steadily pulling apart this devilish system, until all that remains of it is a memory of a nightmare that we once passed through.

Within this site, we aim to provide the thinking and the tools required, to successfully achieve this objective. We also offer the possibility of establishing a network dedicated to this VITAL cause, following Africanist and Pan-Africanist principles.

As African political activists and artists we are custodians and bearers of our culture(s). We are warriors, for our art, actions and life are a line of defence against the attack we are currently under, as Africans. So we invite one and all to join us in this work. Charity starts at home, so if we as Africans don’t respect ourselves enough to stand for our rights, why should anyone else?
